ALOOK FOR MAC
Privacy Policy
Last updated October 21, 2026
Your browser holds personal information. This policy explains what Alook for Mac stores, when information leaves your device, and the choices available to you.
1. About this policy
This policy applies to Alook for Mac, provided by Baoding Lehuo Network Technology Co., Ltd. ("Alook," "we," or "us"). Other versions of Alook have separate privacy policies. Websites, extensions, scripts, and services you choose to use may have their own policies.
2. Information on your device
Alook stores information needed to provide the features you use. This may include browsing and search history, bookmarks, open tabs, website settings, cookies and other website data, saved passwords, downloads, installed userscripts and their values, translation caches, and terminal settings or saved connections.
Saving information locally does not by itself send it to us. Website passwords and sensitive saved terminal credentials are protected locally using encryption and a key held in macOS Keychain. Files you download or export are saved to the locations you choose.
Private Browsing separates browsing history, search history, cookies, and userscript values from regular browsing. It does not make you anonymous to websites, network operators, or connected services. Downloads, saved passwords, bookmarks, installed scripts, and shared caches are not automatically removed when a private window closes.
3. Optional iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync, Alook uses Apple's CloudKit service and your iCloud account to synchronize supported data, including bookmarks, saved passwords, settings, installed userscripts and their resources, and saved terminal connections and credentials. This information is stored in your private CloudKit database.
Sensitive password and terminal credential fields use CloudKit encrypted fields. Sync is governed by your iCloud availability and Apple's services. Turning sync off stops further synchronization; it does not automatically delete information already stored in iCloud.
You can delete supported items within Alook. When sync is enabled and the deletion synchronizes successfully, the corresponding cloud content is removed. Minimal identifiers and deletion markers may remain to keep your devices in agreement. You can manage Alook's iCloud storage through macOS settings.
4. Network requests and connected services
Browsing a website sends requests to that website and its service providers. These requests can reveal your IP address, browser information, requested addresses, and information you submit. The website may store cookies or other data under its own policy.
- Search. Searches are sent to your selected search engine. When online suggestions are enabled, text you type may be sent to the configured suggestion provider before you submit a search.
- Speech input. Voice search uses Apple's Speech framework with your permission. On-device recognition is used when supported; otherwise, audio may be sent to Apple. Recognized text is used for your search.
- Translation. Alook uses Apple's system translation framework. Language resources may need to be downloaded. Processing and availability depend on the system and installed language resources.
- Resource updates. Requests for application configuration, filter lists, script resources or updates, and remote images are sent to the relevant servers. Those servers necessarily receive connection information such as your IP address and the requested resource.
- Terminal connections. Connections and commands you initiate are sent to the hosts or programs you select. The destination and any software you run determine how they process that information.
5. AI Control and userscripts
AI Control lets an agent you connect operate Alook through a local interface, subject to Alook's authorization controls. Depending on the access you grant, an agent may read page content, use existing signed-in sessions, and perform actions in the browser.
Your selected agent or model provider may receive information the agent reads. Its handling of that information is governed by its own settings and privacy policy. Review the provider before granting access. You can disable AI Control or revoke connected access in Alook.
Userscripts can read or change matching pages and make network requests according to their permissions. Install scripts only from sources you trust. Regular and private userscript values are separated; userscript values are not included in iCloud sync.
6. Permissions
Alook requests system permissions when a feature needs them, such as the camera for QR scanning or website camera access, the microphone and speech recognition for voice input, location for website location requests, and file access for files you choose. Local network access supports local websites, casting devices, and SSH connections.
You can manage system permissions in macOS settings and website permissions in Alook. Refusing or withdrawing a permission limits the related feature.
7. Contacting us
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. Alook's feedback feature can prepare diagnostic information such as the app version, macOS version, interface language, userscript count, and filter list names. You can review the message before sending it.
We use this information to respond to you, investigate the issue, and improve Alook. Avoid including passwords, authentication tokens, or other sensitive information in a support message.
8. Retention, deletion, and your choices
Local information remains until you remove it through the relevant Alook controls, remove the corresponding files, or remove the app's data. Alook provides controls for clearing history and website data and for deleting saved items. Files you export, download, or back up may remain separately.
Cloud data is retained according to your use of sync, deletion requests, and Apple's service behavior. Information held by websites, agents, search engines, or other providers is subject to their policies. Stopping a connection does not delete information a provider has already received.
We retain support correspondence only for as long as needed to handle your request and related support, security, or legal obligations. To request access to or deletion of information you have provided directly to us, email AlookApp@qq.com. We may need to verify that the request relates to you.
9. Security and disclosure
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Information may be disclosed when necessary to comply with applicable law or protect users, the service, and legal rights.
Apple services and other providers you use may process information in locations outside your country. Their policies explain their handling of that information.
10. Updates and contact
We may update this policy when Alook or its data practices change. The current version and update date will be published on this page.
